Another beautiful Pacific Northwest wildflower, Corydalis scouleri can be grown in the home garden in a shady spot. In the wild, you will find Scouler's corydalis along streams and in moist shaded woodlands in coastal areas, from Vancouver Island to Southern Oregon.

If you can provide a similar area in your garden, corydalis will form large clumps of lacy, bright green foliage topped with inflorescences of pink flowers from May through July. The flowers attract bees and butterflies and sparrows and finches are fond of the seed.

In the Buck Lake Native Plant Garden, you will find Corydalis scouleri planted in front of a hedgerow at the south end of the garden.
