Cladonia transcendens
Lichens
This 'lipstick Cladonia' is the most common of the red-fruited Cladonias. The simple vertical stalks or podetia that rise out of the low scale-like structures or squamules terminate in blunt points or red tips, and the podetia are covered with granular asexual reproductive structures called soredia. C. transcendens grows on the bark of conifer trees.
